NRL Round 19 Betting Update

NRL Weekly Betting Preview and Tips

Note: () denotes the home team’s bookmaker handicap.

Warriors (-2.5) V Panthers

These two teams clashed in round 10 with the Panthers coming back from 28-6 at half-time to win 36-28. Sportsbet are paying out all NRL Head-to-Head bets early if your team leads by 12 or more. Given the history of these two teams and their ability to win/lose a game from anywhere, the Sportsbet early payout promo is perfectly suited for this matchup.

The Warriors have the important inclusions of Isaac Luke and Solomone Kata. While there’s breaking news that Panthers are without Matt Moylan!

Given the Warriors home advantage and the Panthers missing their key attacking threat, we like the Warriors in this one.

Tip: Warriors @ $1.56 – Sportsbet

Promo: Early payout if your team leads by 12+

Raiders (-5.5) V Dragons

These two teams lit up the competition early in the season though are now struggling to beat even the lowest teams on the ladder. Canberra have fallen a long way out of the top 8, and the Dragons may soon follow. Canberra get their hooker Josh Hodgson back from injury while the Dragons will be without Tyson Frizell and a question mark hangs over glassjaw-Dugan, backing up from SOO.

The Raiders-Dragons hoodoo has long been discussed; the Dragons went for 14 years straight without winning a game in Canberra. We don’t believe in hoodoos but we do believe that the Dragons are crap....and on the slide. So, this week we’re saying what goes up, must come down!

Knights (+15.5) V Broncos

Knights have Dane Gagai backing up from State of Origin while the Broncos have Matt Gillett and Josh McGuire backing up (plus Ben Hunt from his gruelling 9 minutes off the bench). Broncos get Anthony Milford back from injury though are still without Darius Boyd. The Knights are at home on a Saturday afternoon and the Broncos have at times this year struggled for motivation away. All the same, Broncos should be far too good.

Gold Coast (+3.5) V Sharks

The Titans upset the Sharks 16-12 in round 8 this season. This time around, they have the advantage of being at home and against a Sharks squad with five players backing up from State of Origin. The Titans are not unaffected from Origin themselves, with Jarrod Wallace and Jarryd Hayne also backing up. The Sharks should also get hooker James Segeyaro back this week, having been named in the 21-man squad.

The Sharks are renowned for their slow starts this season. The Titans will be remembering their earlier season victory and should jump out of the blocks fast. For this reason, we’ll back the Titans to perform well in the 1st half.

Tip: Titans +2.0 1st half @ 1.90 – Ladbrokes

Manly (-15.5) V West Tigers

Manly get Johnathan Wright back this week, relieving Dylan Walker from goal kicking duties and us fans from having to watch Dylan Walker attempt to kick goals (56% conversion rate this year). The Tigers get Chris Lawrence back from injury, while Sharon Woods and James Tedesco have both been named to back up from Origin.

Souths (+4.5) V Cowboys

This is a Souths home game yet is being played in Cairns. The Cowboys have Origin stars Michael Morgan, Coen Hess and Gavin Cooper all backing up though, given this game is on Sunday, they'll have a couple of extra days recovery compared to other teams this weekend.  Angus Crichton has apparently been spotted in a moon boot this week so may be in doubt. This may explain why the line has moved from +2.5 earlier in the week to +4.5.
